What an inspiring day. Congratulations to our winners who will be representing the Northwest at the CrossFit Games. We wish you all the best and some injury-free, good training between now and July 11th.
Thank you to the athletes, judges, volunteers and spectators who all came together to make this an incredible event and a day to remember.
Here are Steve's and Rob's profiles. They're a couple of newbies to CF and are excited for the event!

I have been doing crossfit for 6 months, Cathy said my squat is getting better, she said it wasn’t even a squat when I started. Did I mention I like Beer?
(Laurie's note: sorry guys, I'm not sure who is who and if I hazzard a guess I'd probably foul it up - but have fun on Saturday!!)

Favorite Workout: Tire Flip Least Favorite Workout: NONE!
I have always considered my self an athlete I actively participate in many different extreme sports and love trying new things. Over the last couple years I have suffered some pretty serious injuries. My motto during recovery has been "bigger better faster and stronger" I found crossfit and I feel more athletic post injury than I ever have before. I am a fun loving guy that enjoys picking up heavy stuff setting it some where else then doing it again!
Age: we don't ask Years CrossFitting: almost 5 Affiliate: Rainier CrossFit
Dave is like the older brother who is always the bad influence. "Lets run a mile for fun, but I'll race you" "There's beer in my office"
Favorite workout: The filthy fifty Least favorite movement: thrusters The thing we get the biggest kick out of: Dave starts all of his runs with the battle cry "AHHHHH". Maybe you heard him at The Big Climb.
Dave is competing today to be surrounded by fun, passionate people. He'll be the one with the biggest smile, all day.

I’m not the type to “promote” or “brag” about what I can lift and how fast I can move. I think the Qualifier will speak for itself! ;) At least I can share a few photos :)
I will confess that my favorite “skill” is the Muscle-Up

The questions we are getting about the exercises has made it clear that many of you are not reading the instructions. We will not have time on the day of the competition to go over the instructions for you so you must READ and comprehend. Please be sure to read over the rules of the CrossFit Total Federation. The Press and the Deadlift will be performed to these exact standards.
There is NO push-press or jerk. Again, read the rules.
Jessica Spray is a 13-year old Honor student at Newport High School. Jessica started CrossFit last year with her mom. Before that Jessica was a competitive gymnast at Gymnastics East. Jessica now focuses her time solely on CrossFit and the results are extraordinary. Jessica weighs just 105 lbs and has a CrossFit total of over 500lbs. Jessica holds the CrossFit Bellevue Ladies record for "Fran" with a time of 3:02 and is right behind her mother with a Helen time of 8:12. Jessica has also done a scaled "Grace" of 80lbs under at 2:50. The future is scary for all of us if Jessica continues to make the progress she has already shown. Her goal is to smash all her big brothers Daniel's times. He is the stud of the family but unfortunately cannot compete because of travel Baseball commitments.
Janice Spray is a 44 year old graduate of the University of Washingtonand a Certified Level-1 CF trainer. Janice graduated with honors with a degree in education. Janice and her husband have been married for almost 20 years and they are the loving parents of three extraordinary CF Kids. Janice has been doing CrossFit for just over 8 months and has become the person to beat at CrossFit Bellevue. Janice has a "Fran" time of 3:30, "Helen" at 8:10 and "Grace" at 3:45. Janice does all this at a without even breaking the 100lb weight class
Matt Gerken is a graduate of the University of Washington with a degree in Finance. Matt currently works as a Financial Manager for a major investment house in Seattle. Matt has been doing CrossFit since CrossFit Bellevue opened its doors and is now one of the top male athletes in the center. Matt has a CF total of 1025lbs, has a "Fran"time of 4:34, a "Helen" of 10:20 and a "Grace" at a smoking 2:10. Matt is the epitome of the quiet professional and prefers to be humble and post great times. If it is a power wod watch out because Matt can throw some weight around and FAST.
Morgan writes: "At first I didn't want to submit an athlete profile because I thought my potential competitors would find a weakness to exploit during the Qualifier. Then I realized this was stupid. But I still wanted to be the dark horse, the guy you never expect to win. Then I realized even I don't expect to win. Also Laurie threatened to headbutt me in the face if I didn't get on it. So I covered my face in my picture to preserve an element of mystery.
I was introduced to Crossfit a few years ago while living in Thailand when a "friend" emailed me Angie. A week and a half later when I could raise my arms to the keyboard, I wrote back to say that I was hooked, but a link to crossfit.com would have been nicer.
After returning to America in July I opened Crossfit Tacoma where I live out my dream job of doing Crossfit all day and laughing at the funny sounds and faces people make. I'm looking forward to competing, I nearly broke my Bowflex and I've been putting in overtime on my elliptical. I just hope Israel doesn't wear the red pants. He's too fast in satin."
The day of the qualifier is my wife Monicas B-day so everyone can wish her happy birthday!
I'm 5ft 8 and 3/4, please don't leave out the 3/4 ha ha. 168 pounds. Been doing crossfit for over two years. Co-own Kirkland Crossfit. Favorite WODs are chipper style, least favorite are anything with a rower involved.
